DAY 1 : NAIROBI – SAMBURU GAME RESERVE

Your 10-day adventure begins with a 7 AM pickup from your Nairobi accommodation or the airport, setting off on a scenic journey to Samburu Game Reserve. Along the way, you will have a stopover at the Equator line in Nanyuki where you can witness the fascinating phenomenon of water swirling in opposite directions on either side of the equator. Continue your drive to Samburu arriving at your lodge or camp in time for lunch.

Following a brief relaxation, embark on an evening game drive safari with our experienced guide. Explore the reserve’s rugged terrain, Samburu Game Reserve is home to a variety of wildlife species that are not commonly found in other parts of Kenya, these include the reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, Beisa oryx, Somali ostrich and gerenuk also known as the “giraffe gazelle.” As the sun sets over the horizon, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight rest, recounting the day’s thrilling encounters amidst the beauty of Samburu.

DAY 2 : FULL DAY IN SAMBURU GAME RESERVE

Wake up to the enchanting sounds of the bush as you prepare for a half-day game drive safari in Samburu Game Reserve after breakfast. Spend the morning exploring the reserve’s diverse landscapes and encountering its resident wildlife with chances to spot the elusive leopard, Somali ostrich and reticulated giraffe. The reserve boasts breathtaking landscapes characterized by rugged mountains, acacia woodlands and meandering rivers such as the Ewaso Nyiro.

At 12PM, Return to your lodge or camp for a hearty lunch and some relaxation time amidst the serene surroundings. Later in the afternoon set out on another thrilling game drive safari, maximizing your chances of spotting wildlife as the day transitions into dusk. You will come across a variety of animals congregating along the riverbanks including elephants, hippos, crocodiles and numerous bird species. As the sun sets over the savannah, return to your accommodation for dinner and relaxation.

DAY 3 : SAMBURU – OL PEJETA CONSERVANCY

After breakfast, continue your journey as you depart Samburu with an enroute game drive as you head to the renowned Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Enjoy lunch at the lodge or camp upon arrival, then take the afternoon to relax and immerse yourself in the tranquil ambiance of the conservancy. At 3 PM, set out for an evening game drive safari. The conservancy boasts a significant population of black rhinos making it one of the key sanctuaries for this critically endangered species.

Black rhinos are under constant threat from poaching for their horns but Ol Pejeta’s intensive anti-poaching measures have helped protect and grow their numbers. Ol Pejeta is also a haven for the Big Five as well as other iconic African wildlife species. The conservancy is home to the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary which provides a safe haven for rescued and orphaned chimpanzees. As the sun begins to set, return to your lodge for a sumptuous dinner and a restful night’s sleep amidst the sounds of the African bush.

DAY 4 : OL PEJETA CONSERVANCY – LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK

Rise early for breakfast before departing Ol Pejeta on enroute game drive and embarking on the journey to Lake Nakuru National Park. Enjoy a scenic drive with a stopovers at Thomson Falls and the Great Rift Valley Escarpment past Nyahururu, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes. Upon arrival in Nakuru, check in for lunch and afternoon relaxation at your lodge before embarking on an evening game drive from 3PM with our experienced guide. The park is home to one of the largest concentrations of black rhinos in East Africa as well as a significant population of white rhinos.

Discover the park’s diverse landscapes, from wooded grasslands to the shimmering lake shores, In addition to flamingos, Lake Nakuru is a haven for birdwatchers with over 450 bird species recorded within the park and other wildlife species. As the sun sets over the horizon, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight rest recounting the day’s thrilling encounters amidst the beauty of Nakuru.

DAY 5 : LAKE NAKURU – MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE..

After breakfast, continue your safari adventure as you journey from Lake Nakuru to the Masai Mara National Reserve situated in southwestern Kenya renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and abundant wildlife, making it one of Africa’s most iconic safari destinations. Arrive at your lodge or camp in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive at 4PM, traverse the vast savannahs and grasslands keeping a keen eye out for the wildlife that inhabits this iconic reserve. Masai Mara is renowned for its high concentration of predators including lions, leopards and cheetahs. Masai Mara is home to the Big Five; lions, elephants, buffaloes leopards and rhinos, offering you excellent chances to spot these majestic animals during game drives and guided safari.

In the evening, discover Lake Naivasha where you can take an optional tranquil boat ride and nature walk experience amidst the serene waters and lush vegetation.

Lake Naivasha is home to a large population of hippos which can often be seen basking along the shores or swimming in the shallow waters. A boat safari will offer you the opportunity to come across these massive mammals up close along with other wildlife such as zebras, giraffes and many other antelope species that come to the lake to drink. Later, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 8 : LAKE NAIVASHA – AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK.

On clear days, the snow-capped summit of Kilimanjaro serves as a stunning backdrop to the park’s diverse landscapes. Along the way, soak in the changing landscapes and anticipate the wildlife encounters awaiting you. Upon arrival at Amboseli, check into your lodge or camp for lunch and relaxation to energize for the afternoon activities.

At 4 PM, embark on an exciting evening game drive safari with our experienced guide. The park is home to some of the largest elephants in Kenya making it a prime destination for elephant enthusiasts and researchers. In addition to elephants, Amboseli is home to a wide variety of wildlife including lions, cheetahs, leopards, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes and wildebeests among other wildlife. Explorers Wild Adventures accepts no responsibility for the progress of the confirmed services in the case of non-compliance to the following conditions of payment. The company recommends that you secure your booking  with a deposit of at least 30% of quotation to confirm the safari with the full balance of payment being due to Explorers Wild Adventures 25 days prior to departure date. Upon receipt of final payment the company will issue all relevant travel documents with fully confirmed status.

Cancellation Policy

Following your confirmation of the file, cancellation will result in the invoicing of cancellation fees according to the following schedule. Please note that we have no choice but to be very strict in the application of this clause. Several establishment in Africa apply cancellation clauses far stricter than ours, particularly in the event of an entire group cancelling. Where this is the case their clauses will apply rather than ours.

• According to the current use in our destinations, check-in in the hotels takes place from 14h00 and check-out before 11h00 in the morning.
• Quotation established subject to availability of hotels (and flights when applicable) following your confirmation.
• Except if otherwise indicated in our proposal, the validity of all rates exclude Peak Season. During Peak Season (Easter and Christmas/New Year) a supplement of aprox. 25 USD per person per day must be added. Exact supplement available on request.

Important Information.

a). Specific accommodation described may not always be available. In the event of this happening, Explorers Wild Adventures will always recommend comparable alternative accommodation. It is then the decision of the traveller to accept or decline this alternative accommodation prior to committing to the deposits and pre-payments.

b). Tour costs are based on all known costs at the date of quotation. Any significant changes beyond the control of Explorers Wild Adventures will be passed onto travellers. Once a final quotation has been given by Explorers Wild Adventures and the same has been accepted on behalf of the client and the tour arrangement has been paid for as per our payment terms, then no additional charges and/or surcharges will be levied.

c). Explorers Wild Adventures reserves the right to alter any arrangements due to local conditions. Explorers Wild Adventures also retains the right to refuse any person from participating on or continuing on any tour for any reason or if that person causes or is deemed to cause hazard or inconvenience to other passengers or to Explorers Wild Adventures.

d). The company will not be responsible for any lost or delayed baggage, resulting from travel with an international scheduled airline.

e). Generally travellers in Africa using charter aircraft services to facilitate travel from one destination to another are limited to a baggage allowance of 33lbs/(15kgs) per passenger. This includes camera equipment and carry on baggage. It is important that this baggage is packed in lightweight duffel type bags.

h). Explorers Wild Adventures is not responsible for any changes in airline schedules, airfares, cancellations, loss or damage to baggage and overbooking. All claims for any loss or injury suffered on any airline must be made directly with the airline involved.
