DAY 1 : MOMBASA/DIANI to TSAVO EAST NATIONAL PARK

Your safari adventure begins with a 7:00 AM pick-up from your beach hotel in Mombasa or Diani. You’ll embark on a scenic drive through the Kenyan countryside toward Tsavo East National Park, one of the oldest and largest national parks in Kenya. Upon arrival at the park’s gate, you’ll begin to sense the raw, untamed beauty of Tsavo as you pass through open savannahs dotted with baobab trees.

After checking in at your lodge or camp, enjoy a delicious lunch and a bit of relaxation before heading out for your first evening game drive. Tsavo East is known for its “Red Elephants,” named for their dust-coated appearance, as well as lions, giraffes, zebras, and countless bird species. As the golden sun sets over the plains, you’ll return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay under the starry African sky. The sounds of the wild will lull you to sleep as you prepare for the journey ahead.

DAY 2 : TSAVO EAST to TAITA HILLS GAME SANCTUARY

Begin your day with an early breakfast and check out followed by a morning game drive in Tsavo East, where the cool morning air often means more active wildlife. This is the perfect time to catch glimpses of predators and grazing herbivores before they retreat into the shade. Around 10:00 AM depart for the nearby Taita Hills Game Sanctuary, a privately owned wildlife conservancy nestled within the scenic Taita Hills.

Upon arrival, you’ll check in and enjoy lunch at the lodge, typically perched with panoramic views of the rolling hills and waterholes below. Spend the early afternoon relaxing or watching wildlife right from the lodge’s terrace. In the late afternoon, head out for an evening game drive, exploring the sanctuary’s unique terrain and possibly spotting elephants, lions, buffaloes, and exotic birds. As darkness falls, return for a cozy dinner and overnight stay, immersed in the tranquility of this lesser-known gem.

DAY 3 : TAITA HILLS to AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, begin your day with an enroute game drive as you exit Taita Hills Game Sanctuary. The drive to Amboseli National Park takes you through Kenya’s heartland, offering glimpses of rural life, colorful roadside markets, and stunning landscapes. Arriving in Amboseli by midday, you’ll check into your lodge or camp and enjoy a hearty lunch while taking in the majestic view of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak.

Spend your early afternoon unwinding before heading out for an evening game drive at 4PM across the park’s open plains. Amboseli is famed for its large herds of elephants and the dramatic backdrop of Kilimanjaro, making it a photographer’s paradise. You may also spot lions, cheetahs, giraffes, and a variety of birdlife along the swamps and waterholes. Return to the lodge in the evening for a delicious dinner and restful overnight stay with Mount Kilimanjaro towering in the distance.

DAY 4 : FULL DAY IN AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK

After an early breakfast, set out for a full-day game drive in Amboseli National Park, complete with picnic lunch boxes for a truly immersive bush experience. The day offers endless opportunities to explore the diverse habitats of the park, from dry lakebeds and savannah grasslands to swamps fed by underground rivers from Kilimanjaro’s melting snow. Keep your eyes peeled for herds of elephants crossing the plains, flocks of flamingos in the wetlands, and elusive predators lounging under acacia trees.

Visit observation hill for panoramic views of the park and a chance to see wildlife congregating around water sources. Enjoy lunch under the shade of a tree or by a scenic spot within the park followed by more afternoon gamedrives. Return to your lodge around 3PM and 4PM for some rest and relaxation. The evening is yours to unwind and reflect on the day’s sightings, followed by dinner and overnight at the lodge.

DAY 5 : AMBOSELI to NAIROBI

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the lodge before departing, you may opt for a short Masai cultural experience, where you can interact with local Masai people, visit a traditional manyatta (village), and learn about their customs and way of life. At around 9:00 AM, begin your drive to Nairobi, passing through scenic countryside and small towns bustling with local activity. The journey offers a glimpse into the daily rhythm of life in rural Kenya.

Upon arrival in Nairobi, you will be dropped off at your hotel or directly at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, marking the end of your unforgettable safari. This marks the conclusion of your journey through some of Kenya’s most iconic parks and landscapes, an experience filled with wildlife encounters, cultural insights, and breathtaking scenery.

Payment Conditions

Explorers Wild Adventures accepts no responsibility for the progress of the confirmed services in the case of non-compliance to the following conditions of payment. The company recommends that you secure your booking  with a deposit of at least 30% of quotation to confirm the safari with the full balance of payment being due to Explorers Wild Adventures 25 days prior to departure date. Upon receipt of final payment the company will issue all relevant travel documents with fully confirmed status.

Cancellation Policy

Following your confirmation of the file, cancellation will result in the invoicing of cancellation fees according to the following schedule. Please note that we have no choice but to be very strict in the application of this clause. Several establishment in Africa apply cancellation clauses far stricter than ours, particularly in the event of an entire group cancelling. Where this is the case their clauses will apply rather than ours.

All cancellations must be made in writing to Explorers Wild Adventures. Please ensure you receive written confirmation that your cancellation has been received by us. All cancellations will be charged a cancellation penalty depending on the number of days before tour departure as shown above.

General Conditions

• According to the current use in our destinations, check-in in the hotels takes place from 14h00 and check-out before 11h00 in the morning.
• Quotation established subject to availability of hotels (and flights when applicable) following your confirmation.
• Except if otherwise indicated in our proposal, the validity of all rates exclude Peak Season. During Peak Season (Easter and Christmas/New Year) a supplement of aprox. 25 USD per person per day must be added. Exact supplement available on request.
• Taxes currently 14% but might resuly in price revisions in the case of fluctuations in the applicable rates.
• Our rates do not include personal extras and expenses, gratuities, or insurance for repatriation assistance, luggage or cancellation.
• Our rates do not include entrance visas (Kenya: 50 USD, Tanzania: 50 USD . Consult your nearest Embassy for details).
• International, domestic and regional flights in the programme are not included in the rates, except if otherwise specified in the quote.
• Our rates do not include airport taxes.

Important Information.

a). Specific accommodation described may not always be available. In the event of this happening, Explorers Wild Adventures will always recommend comparable alternative accommodation. It is then the decision of the traveller to accept or decline this alternative accommodation prior to committing to the deposits and pre-payments.

b). Tour costs are based on all known costs at the date of quotation. Any significant changes beyond the control of Explorers Wild Adventures will be passed onto travellers. Once a final quotation has been given by Explorers Wild Adventures and the same has been accepted on behalf of the client and the tour arrangement has been paid for as per our payment terms, then no additional charges and/or surcharges will be levied.

c). Explorers Wild Adventures reserves the right to alter any arrangements due to local conditions. Explorers Wild Adventures also retains the right to refuse any person from participating on or continuing on any tour for any reason or if that person causes or is deemed to cause hazard or inconvenience to other passengers or to Explorers Wild Adventures.

d). The company will not be responsible for any lost or delayed baggage, resulting from travel with an international scheduled airline.

e). Generally travellers in Africa using charter aircraft services to facilitate travel from one destination to another are limited to a baggage allowance of 33lbs/(15kgs) per passenger. This includes camera equipment and carry on baggage. It is important that this baggage is packed in lightweight duffel type bags.

g). Should guests know and inform the company in advance that they will be carrying baggage in excess of the given limit, Explorers Wild Adventures will quote the extra costs involved.

h). Explorers Wild Adventures is not responsible for any changes in airline schedules, airfares, cancellations, loss or damage to baggage and overbooking. All claims for any loss or injury suffered on any airline must be made directly with the airline involved.
