DAY 1 : NAIROBI TO SAMBURU GAME RESERVE

Your adventure begins with a morning pick-up from your Nairobi hotel or the airport by your safari guide. Depart the bustling city and journey north through scenic landscapes, small towns, and lush farmland. As you approach Samburu, the terrain becomes more arid and rugged, characteristic of Kenya’s northern frontier. Upon arrival at Samburu Game Reserve, you’ll check in at your lodge or camp and enjoy a freshly prepared lunch. Take some time to relax and soak in the wild beauty surrounding you.

In the late afternoon, head out for your first game drive in this unique reserve. Samburu is famous for its rare northern species such as the Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, gerenuk, and reticulated giraffe. Keep an eye out for elephants and big cats like lions and leopards that inhabit the area. After your game drive, return to your lodge for dinner. End your day with the sounds of nature under the star-lit African sky before settling in for the night.

DAY 2 : FULL DAY IN SAMBURU GAME RESERVE

After a hearty breakfast, venture into the Samburu wilderness for a half-day game drive across this rugged, semi-arid terrain. The Ewaso Nyiro River, the life source of the reserve, attracts diverse wildlife, making it an excellent location for photography and sightings. You may encounter elephants bathing, crocodiles basking on the riverbanks, or lions lounging in the shade. Samburu is also a birdwatcher’s haven with over 450 species recorded.

Return to your lodge for a hot lunch and a short rest during the midday heat. Spend the early afternoon relaxing by the pool or enjoying the serenity of the bush from your veranda. In the late afternoon, embark on another game drive, when wildlife becomes active again. With fewer visitors than other parks, Samburu offers intimate and uninterrupted wildlife experiences. After sunset, drive back to your lodge for dinner. Share stories around a fire or simply listen to the night as you prepare for another day of discovery.

DAY 3 : SAMBURU TO OL PEJETA CONSERVANCY

Enjoy breakfast before checking out and setting off southwards towards Ol Pejeta Conservancy. The drive offers scenic views of Mount Kenya in the distance, with a transition from arid plains to highland savannah. Arrive at Ol Pejeta in time for check-in and lunch at your lodge nestled in this 90,000-acre private conservancy. Spend the early afternoon at leisure before your scheduled game drive begins.

Ol Pejeta is home to the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa and houses the world’s last two northern white rhinos. In addition to the Big Five, the conservancy offers unique experiences like visiting the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, the only one of its kind in Kenya. Enjoy an intimate game viewing experience thanks to the conservancy’s limited access policy. After your safari, return to your lodge for a delicious dinner. Listen to the calls of the wild and perhaps spot nocturnal animals nearby before turning in for the night.

DAY 4 : OL PEJETA TO LAKE NAIVASHA

After breakfast, begin your scenic journey to Lake Naivasha in the Great Rift Valley. Along the way, you’ll stop at the Equator in Nyahururu for a photo opportunity and brief demonstration. Next, visit the spectacular Thompson’s Falls, a 74-meter waterfall surrounded by lush greenery for a short photo break. Continue to Naivasha, arriving in time for lunch and check-in at your lakeside resort or lodge.

The afternoon is yours to relax or opt for an optional boat ride across the lake, where you’ll spot hippos, waterbirds, and perhaps giraffes or zebras grazing along the shore. You may also take a nature walk at the nearby wildlife conservancy, a tranquil sanctuary teeming with wildlife. As the sun sets over the lake, enjoy the peaceful ambiance and soft sounds of birds and water lapping at the shores. After a delightful dinner, spend a quiet evening at your lodge, perhaps stargazing or enjoying a drink by the fireplace.

DAY 5 : LAKE NAIVASHA TO MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE

Rise early for breakfast before departing for the world-renowned Masai Mara, a journey that takes you through the heart of the Rift Valley and into the iconic savannahs of southwestern Kenya. The drive is scenic and rewarding, offering glimpses of rural Kenyan life and rolling hills. Arrive at the Masai Mara around midday and check in at your lodge or camp. After a sumptuous lunch, enjoy a short rest in preparation for your first game drive in the reserve.

The Masai Mara is famed for its incredible density of wildlife, including the Big Five and seasonal Great Migration herds. In the evening light, watch lions, elephants, wildebeests, and other animals roam the endless grasslands. Capture stunning photos before returning to camp. Gather around the campfire and share your day’s experiences before enjoying a delicious dinner. Fall asleep to the distant roars of lions and the rustling of the bush outside your tent or room.

DAY 6 : FULL DAY IN MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE

After an early breakfast, depart for a full-day game drive with picnic lunch boxes, allowing you to explore the far reaches of the Mara without returning to camp mid-day. Traverse open plains, riverine forests, and rolling hills in search of elusive leopards, majestic elephants, towering giraffes, and the ever-watchful cheetahs. Visit the Mara River, a dramatic scene during the migration season, where crocodiles and hippos dwell. Depending on the time of year, you may witness dramatic wildlife moments like river crossings or predator-prey encounters.

Enjoy your picnic lunch under a shady acacia tree or by the riverbank. Continue your safari into the afternoon as the sun casts golden hues across the savannah. Return to the lodge by late afternoon between 4PM and 5PM to relax and freshen up. As evening falls, enjoy a well-earned dinner and perhaps a presentation or story session from local Maasai guides. Sleep soundly after a day filled with unforgettable encounters.

You can take to the skies with a hot air balloon ride safari that will see you soar above all of the action. A hot air balloon ride safari experience in the Masai Mara is a truly unforgettable adventure. Your hot air balloon safari typically begins before dawn, as you gather at the launch site within the Masai Mara Reserve. As the sun starts to rise, you’ll watch the balloon being inflated and prepared for flight, creating an exciting atmosphere as anticipation builds.

Another activity is the Maasai Village Tour experience, this optional activity promises to immerse you in the rich heritage and traditions of the Maasai people. You will have the opportunity to engage with the Maasai community, learn about their customs, traditions, and daily life. Experience traditional Maasai dances and participate in interactive activities. The Maasai people are known for their vibrant culture, adorned in colorful attire and intricate beadwork.

DAY 7 : MASAI MARA TO NAIROBI

Begin your morning with a leisurely breakfast at the lodge, soaking in your final moments in the wild. If interested, you can opt for a cultural visit to a nearby Maasai village, where you’ll learn about their traditional lifestyle, customs, and vibrant dances. Depart the Masai Mara around 9:00 AM for your drive back to Nairobi, passing through scenic landscapes and small townships. Along the way, enjoy the memories you’ve created and perhaps make a few photo stops.

Arrive in Nairobi in the afternoon, where you’ll be dropped off at your hotel or directly at the airport, depending on your onward travel plans. This marks the end of a memorable Kenyan safari filled with adventure, wildlife, culture, and natural beauty. As you leave, carry with you the sights, sounds, and spirit of Africa. Payment Conditions

Explorers Wild Adventures accepts no responsibility for the progress of the confirmed services in the case of non-compliance to the following conditions of payment. The company recommends that you secure your booking  with a deposit of at least 30% of quotation to confirm the safari with the full balance of payment being due to Explorers Wild Adventures 25 days prior to departure date. Upon receipt of final payment the company will issue all relevant travel documents with fully confirmed status.

Cancellation Policy

Following your confirmation of the file, cancellation will result in the invoicing of cancellation fees according to the following schedule. Please note that we have no choice but to be very strict in the application of this clause. Several establishment in Africa apply cancellation clauses far stricter than ours, particularly in the event of an entire group cancelling. Where this is the case their clauses will apply rather than ours.

All cancellations must be made in writing to Explorers Wild Adventures. Please ensure you receive written confirmation that your cancellation has been received by us. All cancellations will be charged a cancellation penalty depending on the number of days before tour departure as shown above.

General Conditions

• According to the current use in our destinations, check-in in the hotels takes place from 14h00 and check-out before 11h00 in the morning.
• Quotation established subject to availability of hotels (and flights when applicable) following your confirmation.
• Except if otherwise indicated in our proposal, the validity of all rates exclude Peak Season. During Peak Season (Easter and Christmas/New Year) a supplement of aprox. 25 USD per person per day must be added. Exact supplement available on request.
• Taxes currently 14% but might resuly in price revisions in the case of fluctuations in the applicable rates.
• Our rates do not include personal extras and expenses, gratuities, or insurance for repatriation assistance, luggage or cancellation.
• Our rates do not include entrance visas (Kenya: 50 USD, Tanzania: 50 USD . Consult your nearest Embassy for details).
• International, domestic and regional flights in the programme are not included in the rates, except if otherwise specified in the quote.
• Our rates do not include airport taxes.

Important Information.

a). Specific accommodation described may not always be available. In the event of this happening, Explorers Wild Adventures will always recommend comparable alternative accommodation. It is then the decision of the traveller to accept or decline this alternative accommodation prior to committing to the deposits and pre-payments.

b). Tour costs are based on all known costs at the date of quotation. Any significant changes beyond the control of Explorers Wild Adventures will be passed onto travellers. Once a final quotation has been given by Explorers Wild Adventures and the same has been accepted on behalf of the client and the tour arrangement has been paid for as per our payment terms, then no additional charges and/or surcharges will be levied.

c). Explorers Wild Adventures reserves the right to alter any arrangements due to local conditions. Explorers Wild Adventures also retains the right to refuse any person from participating on or continuing on any tour for any reason or if that person causes or is deemed to cause hazard or inconvenience to other passengers or to Explorers Wild Adventures.

d). The company will not be responsible for any lost or delayed baggage, resulting from travel with an international scheduled airline.

e). Generally travellers in Africa using charter aircraft services to facilitate travel from one destination to another are limited to a baggage allowance of 33lbs/(15kgs) per passenger. This includes camera equipment and carry on baggage. It is important that this baggage is packed in lightweight duffel type bags.

h). Explorers Wild Adventures is not responsible for any changes in airline schedules, airfares, cancellations, loss or damage to baggage and overbooking. All claims for any loss or injury suffered on any airline must be made directly with the airline involved.
