Day 1 : Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve
At 0700 hrs, you will be picked up from your hotel in Nairobi or from the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and drive through the central Kenya highlands and equator to the Northern Frontier’s stunning semi-arid scrub terrain. Reach in wildlife with fame for abundance in rare northern specialist species, Samburu National Reserve is one of Kenya’s most well-known parks and as a result it has gotten quite busy over the years. Game viewing is best along the banks of the Ewaso Ngiro, which runs east-west across the park. During the dry season when the surface waterways dries up, it is a fantastic place for game viewing.
You’ll arrive at Samburu Sopa Lodge for check-in and lunch, relax for a few hours before you embark for an afternoon game drives in the reserve. After a breathtaking sunset, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2 : Full Day in Samburu National Reserve
After breakfast, you will go for a half game drive, the Samburu National Reserve will be your home for the day. You will encounter different wildlife species, the gerenuk, grevy’s zebra, oryx, somali ostrich and reticulated giraffe all of which are unique and it’s only in Kenya’s northern plains where they are found, large predators such as the lion, leopard and cheetah are present, there are more than 900 elephants. Olive baboons, warthogs, Grant’s gazelles, Kirk’s dik-dis, impala and waterbucks are among the park’s other species. There are over 350 different bird species.
You will go back to the lodge for lunch and relax for a few hours afterwards before you embark for another evening game drives in the reserve till sunset before returning to the lodge for dinner and a overnight.

Day 3 : Samburu to Lake Nakuru National park
Leave after breakfast for Lake Nakuru National Park which lies on the floor of the Great Rift Valley, the journey will take approximately 6 hrs drive. Lake Nakuru National Park has some of the most beautiful scenery. Grasslands, marsh, outcrops, rocky cliffs and sedge are among the park’s tranquil landscapes. Lake Nakuru National Park has been designated as Kenya’s first rhino sanctuary, these rhinos can be found in great numbers throughout the park. You may spot tree climbing lions in this park, leopards are present though they are rarely seen. Flamingos, rothschild giraffes, buffalos, hippos, colobus monkey, rock hyrax, water buck, striped hyena, golden cat, thomsons and grant gazelle are some of the wildlife also found in this park.
You’ll arrive at Lake Nakuru Lodge for check-in and lunch, relax for a few hours before you embark for an afternoon game drives to discover Lake Nakuru National Park. After a beautiful sunset, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4 : Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara National Reserve
After an early breakfast depart for Masai Mara in the southern part of Kenya. The Masai Mara Game Reserve is one of Africa’s most well-known reserves famous for its rich wildlife, it is land of spectacular scenery, plentiful wildlife, and unending savannah grassland composed of vast rolling plains and hills dotted with umbrella thorn acacias and thorny thickets. The Great Migration which occurs every year from July to September is possibly the Mara’s most famous feature. More than 1.5 million wildebeest and zebras migrate from the Serengeti to the Mara in search of food and water throughout these months, the Serengeti and Mara parks are interconnected wildlife havens, the reserves are a photographers paradise!
At noon, you’ll arrive at your lodge for check-in and lunch, relax for a few hours before you embark for an afternoon game drives to discover Masai Mara Game Reserve. Late in the evening you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5 : Full Day in Masai Mara National Reserve
After breakfast, you’ll go on a full-day game drive in the park, a packed lunch box shall be arranged on this day. The Maasai Mara is home to not only the Big Five but also many many other wildlife species. Elephants, buffalos, giraffes, lions and cheetahs are spotted in the reserve. Leopards are common, endangered black rhinos can be seen hiding in impenetrable thickets and the Mara River is home to massive hippos and gigantic crocodiles. Over 450 species of birds can be found in the reserve.
There are optional activities that you can participate on this day, a hot air balloon adventure (extra) will take you to the skies that will see you soar above the game in action. You can also visit a traditional Maasai village (extra) to experience how the Maasai people live in the middle of the bush with lions roaring just outside their homes and get to know their culture and customs.
After a successful day of searching for the ‘Big 5’ you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6 : Masai Mara to Nairobi
After breakfast you will check out of the lodge and drive to Nairobi arriving in the afternoon. On this day you have an option (extra) to pass by Lake Naivasha along the way for a boat safari experience to Crescent Island, a private game reserve populated by herbivores. The lake is also a birding destination, with hundreds of species of birds found in its swamps and woodlands, large mammals such as cape buffalo, hippos and playful colobus monkeys can be spotted around the shores.
You’ll be dropped off to your hotel in Nairobi or transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward arrangements.

Explorers Wild Adventures accepts no responsibility for the progress of the confirmed services in the case of non-compliance to the following conditions of payment. The company recommends that you secure your booking with a deposit of at least 30% of quotation to confirm the safari with the full balance of payment being due to Explorers Wild Adventures 25 days prior to departure date. Upon receipt of final payment the company will issue all relevant travel documents with fully confirmed status.

All cancellations must be made in writing to Explorers Wild Adventures. Please ensure you receive written confirmation that your cancellation has been received by us. All cancellations will be charged a cancellation penalty depending on the number of days before tour departure as shown above.
General Conditions
- According to the current use in our destinations, check-in in the hotels takes place from 14h00 and check-out before 11h00 in the morning.
- Quotation established subject to availability of hotels (and flights when applicable) following your confirmation.
- Except if otherwise indicated in our proposal, the validity of all rates exclude Peak Season. During Peak Season (Easter and Christmas/New Year) a supplement of aprox. 25 USD per person per day must be added. Exact supplement available on request.
- Taxes currently 14% but might resuly in price revisions in the case of fluctuations in the applicable rates.
- Our rates do not include personal extras and expenses, gratuities, or insurance for repatriation assistance, luggage or cancellation.
- Our rates do not include entrance visas (Kenya: 50 USD, Tanzania: 50 USD . Consult your nearest Embassy for details).
- International, domestic and regional flights in the programme are not included in the rates, except if otherwise specified in the quote.
- Our rates do not include airport taxes.

Important Information.
a). Specific accommodation described may not always be available. In the event of this happening, Explorers Wild Adventures will always recommend comparable alternative accommodation. It is then the decision of the traveller to accept or decline this alternative accommodation prior to committing to the deposits and pre-payments.
b). Tour costs are based on all known costs at the date of quotation. Any significant changes beyond the control of Explorers Wild Adventures will be passed onto travellers. Once a final quotation has been given by Explorers Wild Adventures and the same has been accepted on behalf of the client and the tour arrangement has been paid for as per our payment terms, then no additional charges and/or surcharges will be levied.
c). Explorers Wild Adventures reserves the right to alter any arrangements due to local conditions. Explorers Wild Adventures also retains the right to refuse any person from participating on or continuing on any tour for any reason or if that person causes or is deemed to cause hazard or inconvenience to other passengers or to Explorers Wild Adventures.
d). The company will not be responsible for any lost or delayed baggage, resulting from travel with an international scheduled airline.
e). Generally travellers in Africa using charter aircraft services to facilitate travel from one destination to another are limited to a baggage allowance of 33lbs/(15kgs) per passenger. This includes camera equipment and carry on baggage. It is important that this baggage is packed in lightweight duffel type bags.

h). Explorers Wild Adventures is not responsible for any changes in airline schedules, airfares, cancellations, loss or damage to baggage and overbooking. All claims for any loss or injury suffered on any airline must be made directly with the airline involved.
